Safari Overview
The Great Migration is the largest overland animal movement on Earth, and this eight-day safari is designed specifically to put you in the right place at the right time to witness it. With four full days in the Serengeti, your guide will position you in the area of the park where the herds are currently concentrated, whether that is the calving grounds in the south, the river crossings in the north, or the dramatic Grumeti corridor in the west.
This migration-focused itinerary follows a flexible route within the Serengeti based on the current location of the herds. Your guide is in constant communication with other guides and pilots, receiving daily updates on herd movements. When the wildebeest approach the Mara River for their perilous crossings, you will be positioned at the best vantage points. When the herds are calving on the southern plains, you will be there to witness thousands of new lives entering the world each day.
Beyond the migration itself, the tour includes a day in Tarangire and a full morning in the Ngorongoro Crater, ensuring you also experience the non-migratory highlights of the northern circuit. Accommodation combines mid-range lodges with seasonal tented camps that position you close to the action. This is a safari for those who want to truly understand and experience one of the greatest natural phenomena on the planet.
