Mount Meru 3 Days Trekking Tour

Description for Mount Meru 3 Days Trekking Tour

Mount Meru is a dormant (but active) volcano in Tanzania, situated north of Arusha. It is Tanzania’s second tallest peak and Africa’s fourth highest mountain, standing at 4562 meters.

Mt. Meru has become a favorite “warm-up” trip for Kilimanjaro climbers due to its proximity to Mount Kilimanjaro, which is just 70 kilometers away.

Due to its steepness, Mt. Meru is a difficult climb, but it is an excellent method to acclimate before tackling Mt. Kilimanjaro. Because of the profusion of animals on the lower slopes, climbers are escorted by an armed ranger.

Mt. Meru also has significant historical importance, with some supposing that it was the last resting site of Noah’s Ark when the biblical deluge subsided.

Mt. Meru is a fantastic trekking choice for people who want to take on a climbing challenge and experience what it’s like to be out in the wilderness but aren’t quite ready to face Mt. Kilimanjaro.
